Energy efficiency is not a new concept and Concast have shown their support and initiative in this area in order to make a difference – both the employees and the employers have played their part in order to improve the energy efficiency of the business.
One of the main problems with office buildings is wastage in terms of light and heat. Concast’s new head office is a modern green building, with light sensors, which automatically turn the lights off when someone leaves the room. It also has a heat exchange system, allowing for transfer of hot air through out the building, and reducing the cost of heating the building as a whole.
Concast’s manufacturing plant is focused on reusing materials, reducing waste and recycling material, wherever possible. This will help reduce cost and also is good for the environment.
In design of structures, precast concrete buildings are the most energy efficient on the market, due to their excellent ratings in terms of thermal conductivity. We work constantly with the design team on any project to eliminate cold bridging and other details which may reduce a buildings BER rating.
