Due to the wide variety of designs of Hotels, a high degree of flexibility is required. Generally, lower floors have large reception areas and require open spaces, which would be suitable for beam and column system, although higher levels containing the rooms themselves are more suitable for cross wall construction. This can mean that a transfer structure is required at first floor level, to incorporate this change in design.
