Thurles car park was completed using precast elements. 400 deep Hollowcore was used to span 16 metres, to allow for large open plan areas, for parking and movement of the cars. Spandrel panels were used at the exterior of the building and around the ramp areas. Stair wells incorporated rendered structural wall panels with stair and landing units.
Concast also were involved in the shopping centre structure, supplying and installing wall panels, slab and completed stair cores.
Thurles car park used the technique of rendered spandrel panels. This has been very popular with the design of car parks over recent years. All external panels and spandrels were rendered. The Spandrels even featured a recess in the centre of each unit, where another colour was incorporated, to give a two tone appearance.
Scope of work: Beams, Columns, floors, wall panels, stairs, Spandrels etc.
