OPW Car Park, Trim, Co. Meath

Client: Office of Public Works
Architect: Anthony Reddy and Assoc.
Engineer: Barrett Mahony

The proposal to relocate the Office of Public Works (OPW) to Trim Co. Meath, as part of the governments ‘Decentralisation Scheme’, which is at an advanced stage. The town of Trim is located at the centre of some of Ireland’s most important historical sites, including Trim Castle, the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Europe. The relocation required the construction of a major landmark building, the winner of an internal OPW design competition held in 2004. The design brief stipulated that the new facility be "an exemplar of all that is best in modern office design environments and sustainable building techniques". A new Precast Concrete Multi-storey car park has been built adjacent to the main office building. The OPW selected Mullingar based Bennett Construction Ltd as the main contractor to develop the €30 million scheme.

Scope of work: Beams, Columns, floors, wall panels, stairs, Spandrels etc.

Car Park – 10,000 sq. m.
